Community Food Relief Program Local Grant!
First, we received a grant from Noel Jones to support our community meal program.
And then... this.
We are very grateful for what this will enable us to do, in expanding our program, while also improving key elements of it as well.

2024 Casey Volunteer & Community Award
This award goes out to each and every one of our volunteers. We could not keep doing this without the many, many hands we have working both behind the scenes and publicly.
When Pat found out we were nominated for a volunteer award, he groaned. He loves what he does, but he's always struggled to take a compliment - so that's what Sim is here for (and Briony - who nominated us).
Sim wants to publicly - and loudly - say a very big thank you to Pat. The cupboard was his idea and, without his passion, it would never have happened. Not only is he the ideas man, he is so good with people; he is compassionate, caring, and tells the absolute worst (dad) jokes.If you've ever had the pleasure of interacting with Pat, we'd love for you to shower him in compliments in the comments to remind him of how awesome he is and how well deserved this recognition is.Sim knows she's biased, but he's one of the good ones.

Not only have they recently been supplying $30 vouchers to use at local Montrose stores while they're experiencing hardship with the roadworks (and have shared some of those vouchers with us, which we've redistributed to the community at our events), they also have been incredibly generous with their support of Montrose Community Cupboard.
John, Lisa and their wonderful team helped us make our meal program more sustainable for our volunteers. On top of that, we were also able to purchase a couple of food trolleys and a new personalised gazebo.

Community Meals
Montrose makes meals a new offering

The Montrose Community Cupboard has expanded into its next phase of people supporting people and the environment with its new community meals.
Having hosted the very first meal at the Montrose Public Hall on Sunday 24 March, they are now inviting everyone to join for the next meal on 28 April.
